Comedy Mate — Privacy Policy
Comedy Mate is published by Awesomeosity LLC.
The short version
Comedy Mate collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Your writing, your recordings, and your location stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. Awesomeosity LLC cannot read any of it.
What stays on your device
Everything you write. Every attempt, idea, draft, joke, set list, and field report is stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, it also syncs to your own private iCloud database, which is tied to your Apple Account. Awesomeosity LLC has no ability to read, export, or recover that data — it is not ours to see. If you turn iCloud off, your material simply stays on the one device.
Recordings of your sets. Audio captured in Live Mode is written to the app's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded, never synced to iCloud, and never transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes the recordings.
Your location. If you allow location access, Comedy Mate uses it for one purpose: to calculate how far away an open mic is from where you are standing. That calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is never stored, never transmitted, and never associated with anything. Declining location access only means mic distances are not shown.
Microphone access. Used only while you are actively recording a set, and only to write that recording to your device.
On-device intelligence
Comedy Mate uses Apple's on-device foundation models for two jobs: suggesting writing prompts when the authored pool runs out, and noticing themes you keep circling back to in your own material. Both run entirely on your device. No part of your writing is sent to Awesomeosity LLC, to Apple, or to any other service for this or any other purpose.
What leaves your device
Nothing, with one exception: your own iCloud sync, described above, which goes directly between your device and your Apple Account.
Comedy Mate contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. The app makes no network requests to any server operated by Awesomeosity LLC, because there is no such server.
Purchases
Comedy Mate Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the entire transaction. Awesomeosity LLC never receives or has access to your payment details. Apple provides us with aggregate, anonymised sales reporting — totals and territories, never individuals. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings, not in the app.
Children
Comedy Mate is not directed at children. It is a tool for adult comedians and its prompts assume an adult writer.
Your rights
Because Comedy Mate holds no data about you on any system we control, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on request. Your material is yours, on your device and in your own iCloud, and you can remove it at any time by deleting the app and clearing its iCloud data from your Apple Account settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
